HOW DO I FIND, RELEASE, AND RENEW MY IP ADDRESS USING DOS?
First, to enter DOS:
Click on the Start icon in the bottom left hand corner of the screen
Click on Run
In the next window, type in the text window ‘command’
Hit enter
You are now in DOS
To find your IP address:
Type ‘ipconfig’
To release your IP address (Releasing your IP address means you no longer want to use your current IP address):
Type ‘ipconfig/release’
To renew your IP address (Renewing your IP address means you ask the DHCP server to give you a new IP address (must be connected to a DHCP server to work)):
Type ‘iconfig/renew’
