With a Monitor attached: |
- Connect a cable (CAT5) between the Ethernet port on the DVR and a hub, router, switch or modem. If you are connecting directly to a computer you will need a cross-over cable.
- Make sure that the unit is network enabled
- On the DVR - Setup • Communications
- Net Enabled set to "On"
- If IP address is dynamic then DHCP should be set to "On"
- If IP address is static then DHCP is set to "Off"
- Net IP, press Enter to SET, then key in the information (note: IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway AND Port can be entered on this screen)

- Press the Power button to turn on the DVR. Wait for about 25 seconds for the DVR to power up
- First you must enable the DVR to communicate with a network
- By default, the DVR is unable to connect with a network
- To enable, the DVR to connect with a network
- Press the Setup button one time
- Press the Down arrow key 3 times
- Press the Enter key one time
- Press the Down arrow key 3 times
- Press the Enter key one time
- Press the Down arrow key one time
- Press the Enter key one time
- Press the Setup button one time
- Now the DVR will be able to connect to the network
- Next you need to specify the network information (IP address, Subnet Mask, Gateway and Port) for your DVR
- This information may be obtained two different ways:
- You may get the information from your ISP (internet service provider) and manually enter the information in the DVR
- The DVR can automatically obtain the information from a DHCP server if the network you are connecting the DVR to is connected to a DHCP server
- By default, you must enter in the information manually. If you want to obtain the information automatically from a DHCP server, follow these instructions:
- Press the Setup button one time (enters setup screen)
- Press the Down arrow 3 times (goes to communications)
- Press the Enter key one time (enters communications menu)
- Press the Down arrow key 4 times (goes to NET DHCP)
- Press the Enter key one time (gives ON/OFF option)
- Press the Down arrow key one time (goes to DHCP ON on the menu)
- Press the Enter key one time (sets DHCP to ON)
- Press the Setup button one time (exits the setup screen)
- Now the DVR will use the DHCP server to obtain the network information it needs
- Power down the DVR by pressing and holding the Power button until the Power button's light changes from green to orange
- Press the Power button to turn on the DVR
- As the DVR turns on, it will ask the DHCP server to give the DVR the network information it needs to connect to the DHCP server's network
- Wait about 25 seconds for the DVR to power up
- Now you should be able to connect to your network
- If you want to manually enter the information into the DVR, first turn off DHCP by following these instructions:
- Press the Setup button one time
- Press the Down arrow 3 times
- Press the Enter key one time
- Press the Down arrow key 4 times
- Press the Enter key one time
- Press the Up arrow key one time
- Press the Enter key one time
- Press the Setup button one time
- Now the DHCP setting is turned off on the DVR. Now you need to specify the network information:
- Press the Setup button one time
- Press the Down arrow key 3 times
- Press the Enter key one time
- Press the Down arrow key 5 times
- Press the Enter button 2 times
- Now you will need to enter the network information
- Change each digit as is appropriate using the up/down arrow keys
- Use the left/right arrow keys to move back/forth between number segments
- Once you have entered all the information correctly...
- Press the Enter key 2 times
- Press the Setup key one time
- Power down the DVR by pressing and holding the power button till the power button's light changes from green to orange
- Turn on the DVR by pressing the Power button
- Wait about 25 seconds for the DVR to power up
- Now you should be able to connect to your network
